Your link and your code
Everything starts with two things that point at the same place. Your referral link looks like sharkearnings.com/r/yourname, and your referral code is the part after the slash, which somebody can type manually during registration if they did not arrive through your link.
By default the code is your username. You can change it to something shorter or more memorable from the affiliates dashboard - useful if your username is long or hard to spell out loud in a video.
Attribution is permanent and one-way. The link between you and a referral is fixed the moment their account is created. A manually entered code counts right up until registration completes, but after that it cannot be added, changed or transferred to a different account. If somebody signs up without your code, they cannot be attached to you later.
The five tabs
| Tab | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Referrals | Your link, your total referrals, lifetime commission, and earnings charts over 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days. |
| My Codes | Reward codes locked to your referrals, with the uses remaining on each. See how reward codes work. |
| Tiers | Your current commission rate and two progress bars towards the next tier - lifetime and last 30 days. |
| Promo | Downloadable banners and a personal QR code that resolves to your referral link. |
| Private Users | Per-referral balances, chargebacks and fraud-risk flags, with a date filter. |
The QR code is the underrated one
The Promo tab generates a QR image pointing at your referral link. Anyone who scans it lands on your link with attribution intact, which makes it the only practical option in places where a URL cannot be clicked: a video overlay, a livestream corner, an Instagram story, a printed flyer.
It also survives being re-shared as an image, whereas a pasted link often gets stripped or shortened by the platform it is posted on. If you make short-form video, see the YouTube Shorts referral guide and the TikTok guide for where to place it.
Reading the numbers honestly
Two things about the statistics are worth knowing before you draw conclusions from them:
- They lag by about five minutes. Referral statistics are cached, so a commission that has just been credited will not appear instantly. Reload after a few minutes rather than assuming it was missed.
- The tier bars measure your commission, not your referrals' earnings. Both the lifetime and 30-day bars track what you have been paid. See the full tier table for the thresholds.
What you cannot see, deliberately. You get aggregated performance data - earnings and activity counts - and never your referrals' personal information. Their email, name and payout details are not shown to you at any point, which is a privacy requirement rather than an oversight.
What to actually do with them
The tools are not the hard part; traffic is. The Private Users tab is the one experienced affiliates use most, because it shows which referrals are genuinely earning and which arrived, registered and vanished. That tells you which channel is worth repeating.
Before you start promoting anywhere, read the programme rules - a few common promotion tactics are prohibited and will cost you the commission you built up. For channel-specific approaches, see the WhatsApp and Telegram strategy and the Pinterest traffic guide.
