Understanding Chargebacks (Offer Reversals)
A "chargeback" (also known as an offer reversal) occurs when an offer provider reverses a reward that was previously credited to your account. This means the amount is deducted from your balance - see why your balance decreased for the other reasons a balance can drop. You can see these transactions in the "Chargebacks" tab of your Transaction History.
Why do chargebacks happen?
Chargebacks are initiated by our offer partners, not by Shark Earnings. This almost always happens when, during a post-completion quality check, the provider determines that the task was not completed according to their standards. Common reasons include:
- Low-Quality or Rushed Survey Answers: Providing inconsistent, nonsensical, or rushed answers in a survey.
- Incorrect Information: Using false information to qualify for an offer.
- Early Uninstallation: Uninstalling an app shortly after the reward was credited, before the required period.
- Not Meeting Game Level Requirements: Not reaching the specific in-game milestone as described in the offer instructions. Game offers rarely pay for partial progress - see the offer types guide.
- Fraudulent Activity: The provider detecting the use of a VPN or other fraudulent methods. See the VPN and proxy policy.
How to Dispute a Chargeback?
Important: Since chargebacks are initiated by the offer partners (advertisers) and NOT by Shark Earnings, we do not have the authority to reverse their decision.
If you believe the reversal was an error and you completed the task honestly, you must contact the partner directly.
