Two Types of Session Errors
There are two types of session-related errors you might see, and each has a different solution:
❌ Type 1: "Your session has expired. Please log in again."
What this means: Your session has completely expired and you need to log back in.
Solution: Refresh the page (press F5) and log in again with your credentials.
✅ Quick fix - just refresh and login!
⚠️ Type 2: "Security token mismatch. Please refresh the page."
What this means: You are still logged in, but the form you submitted was from an old page load.
Solution: Simply press F5 to refresh the page and try again!
✅ Works 95% of the time!
Why This Happens
Sessions expire to protect your account from unauthorized access - an open session needs no password, which is why this matters. See the account security tips. Common causes:
- Page Left Open Too Long: Sessions automatically expire after 2-3 hours of inactivity for security
- Browser Was Closed: Your session ends when you close your browser
- Multiple Tabs Open: Opening Shark Earnings in multiple tabs can sometimes cause conflicts
- Browser Cache Issues: Old cached data can conflict with new sessions
- Network Changes: Switching from WiFi to mobile data (or vice versa) can reset your session. Note that a VPN changing servers mid-session has the same effect, and also breaks offer tracking
How to Fix It (3 Solutions)
Solution #1: Simple Refresh (Works 95% of the time)
- Press F5 on your keyboard (or Ctrl+R on Windows, Cmd+R on Mac)
- Wait for the page to reload
- Try your action again
✅ This fixes the error 95% of the time!
Solution #2: Hard Refresh (If simple refresh doesn't work)
A hard refresh clears your browser's cached version of the page:
- Windows: Press Ctrl + Shift + R or Ctrl + F5
- Mac: Press Cmd + Shift + R
- Mobile: Pull down from the top of the browser to refresh
Solution #3: Clear Cache & Cookies (Nuclear option)
If the error persists after refreshing:
- Clear your browser cache and cookies for
sharkearnings.com - Close all Shark Earnings tabs
- Restart your browser
- Go back to Shark Earnings and log in again
How to Prevent This Error
| Best Practice | Why It Helps |
|---|---|
| Use Only One Tab | Multiple tabs can cause session conflicts |
| Complete Actions Quickly | Don't leave forms half-filled for hours |
| Stay on Same Network | Switching WiFi/mobile data can reset sessions |
| Keep Browser Updated | Old browsers have cache/cookie issues |
| Enable Cookies | Cookies store your session information |

Why We Do This: Session expiration is a security feature that protects your account. It prevents attackers from hijacking your session if you leave your computer unattended or use a public computer. Your security is our priority!
Quick Fix: For both error types, a simple page refresh (F5) is usually all you need. If your session expired completely (Type 1), just log in again after refreshing!
Remember: 95% of the time, pressing F5 to refresh solves this error instantly!
